The Boring Terms & Conditions
Buyers are responsible for return postage costs (standard postage should do the trick!)
We can only accept items returned in its original condition when delivered.
If you require an exchange for another item (size/colour etc.) we may ask you to pay an additional shipping charge to cover cost of delivery.
If the returned item is in its original condition, we will refund the customer in the same payment method as purchased within 1-2 working days
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept returns of earrings for hygiene reasons. If there is a genuine fault with earrings, please contact us via email so that we can review and replace the piece if deemed appropriate.
Returned items bought on promotion will be refunded at the discounted amount. Items purchased in a 3 for 2 promotion will be refunded at the calculated discounted amount across the 3 items purchased.
Faulty Items
Jewellery is a delicate business and things can go wrong from time to time. While we pride ourselves on offering quality pieces, a small proportion of our pieces sold may contain a manufacturing fault.
We are of course always happy to replace any faulty items, provided the below conditions apply:
The fault is a genuine fault that existed at time of purchase and is noticed within the first few wears of the piece.
The wearer has followed our care instructions for the specific material of the piece bought. You can find our Jewellery Care Guide here.
We are notified of the fault as soon as possible to when the fault is noticed so that we can investigate and resolve in a timely manner. You can reach out to us via email at care@ivysattic.ie or via our Contact Us page.
Fair Usage
Our jewellery is designed to be enjoyed and worn with care. While every piece is made to high standards, the nature of the materials means they may require gentle handling to maintain their appearance. This policy explains what is considered fair usage under your statutory rights.
Covered Under Statutory Rights
We will repair, replace, or refund items that develop a manufacturing fault within a reasonable time when used as intended. Examples include:
Plating or finish wearing away unusually quickly despite careful use.
Stones or settings becoming loose or falling out soon after purchase.
Clasps or fastenings breaking under light, normal use.
Not Covered – Wear & Tear or Misuse
Jewellery is delicate and should be treated with care. The following are not considered manufacturing faults:
Plating fading or tarnishing over time due to normal wear.
Damage caused by contact with water, perfumes, lotions, hair products, or cleaning chemicals.
Breakage caused by accidental damage (e.g., being caught, dropped, or pulled).
Discolouration or tarnish from exposure to sweat, humidity, or storage in damp conditions.
Loss of stones after prolonged use.
Care Instructions
To help your jewellery last:
Avoid water – remove before showering, swimming, or exercising.
Apply perfume & lotions first – allow to dry before putting on jewellery.
Store carefully – keep pieces in a dry, cool place away from sunlight, ideally in a pouch or box.
Clean gently – use a soft dry cloth; avoid chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
Your Rights
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under Irish consumer law.
If you believe your item has a manufacturing fault, please contact us with proof of purchase and a description (or photo) of the issue.
